Crazy Ants are believed to have originated in Asia or Africa, and later finding their way into the United States. Crazy Ants are highly adaptable, living in both very dry and rather moist habitats. Their nests are found in trash, tree cavities, rotten wood, in soil, and under debris piles. A Crazy Ant nest can be discovered by noticing worker ants carrying food to the nest. Their unique appearance of running aimlessly led to their informal name of "crazy ants."
